Case Study 02

BYREDO Gypsy Water — AI Campaign Study

Unofficial / speculative campaign concept

A speculative fragrance campaign exploring product consistency, visual art direction and physically driven AI motion.

Self-initiated study. Not commissioned by, affiliated with or endorsed by BYREDO. The product is used as a subject to test how accurately a real object survives generation and motion.

Role
Concept, art direction, generation, motion direction, visual QA
Discipline
Generative image and video
Focus
Product consistency, image-to-video
Output
Three campaign stills, two motion sequences
Campaign stills

Three registers from one art direction, at equal weight.

Generated hero campaign still of the fragrance bottle
Hero
Generated lifestyle campaign still with the fragrance in a lived-in setting
Lifestyle
Generated conceptual campaign still in a darker register
Conceptual

Hero holds the product, lifestyle places it in a room with real light, and the conceptual frame carries the mood the fragrance is actually selling. A campaign needs all three to survive different placements.

Motion studies

Each sequence is generated from the still beside it, at its own true format.

Motion

Physically driven interaction between the product and its environment. The bottle stays the fixed point and the world moves around it.

Process

  1. Set the campaign direction first — cool, minimal, editorial — and write it down before generating anything.
  2. Establish the hero frame, since every other still inherits its light logic and product treatment.
  3. Build the lifestyle and conceptual registers against that direction rather than as separate ideas.
  4. Check the bottle against the product reference at full size before any frame becomes a source still.
  5. Write motion prompts that describe a physical cause, not a camera move alone.
  6. Review motion frame by frame at the points where the product is largest in frame.

Checked on every candidate

  • Label distortion and edge softening
  • Typography changes across frames
  • Bottle proportion drift between stills
  • Glass deformation under changing light
  • Cap deformation and seating on the neck
  • Ghost-like object movement during motion
  • Unrealistic fabric movement in the environment
  • Window and reflection behaviour
  • Camera behaviour — drift, wobble, false parallax
  • Motion physics reading as cause and effect
Outcome

A campaign set where a real product survives generation and motion intact — three stills that hold together as one art direction, and two sequences in the formats a fragrance campaign actually ships in.
